To build businesses that will metamorphose into corporations, there are three fundamental pillars: the builders, the managers, and the experts. The outcome is what gives credence to nation of entrepreneurs.
The builders: those who own the vision, who see the big picture; their resilience and tenacity are unrivalled, they cannot get bored, else the dreams die. The other two components can capitulate or move on during turbulent times, but never the builders; they are the lynchpin, the real entrepreneurs.
The managers: these are the people who keep the operations running, ensuring that customers needs and expectations are met. It has a diverse range of people, from the CEO to functional managers, those in sales, finance, marketing, etc. Without them, the visions and dreams of the builders cannot get to the customers, no frictions would be fixed.
The experts: these are the people that translate visions into products and services. For a software company, they are the programmers/software engineers. And for a restaurant, they are chefs. They make things happen, without them, the builders’ vision will only remain a vision.
Any nation that gets the three pillars right, and scales them, is a nation of entrepreneurs. Be one!
